Our service offers community based independent housing with support in mature areas.
Currently, Stepping Stone owns 27 units of accommodation including houses, apartments and single units, providing housing, furnished to a high standard, to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk. Tenants are offered a clear and legal lease outlining rights and responsibilities of both tenant and landlord.
The charity was founded in 1972 to offer support to young families in Dublin inner city. Originally known as ‘House a Marriage’, it helped young families living in unsuitable conditions by providing low cost housing and helping them save towards their first home.
Along with our core professional team, Stepping Stone relies on a group of trained volunteers, who visit Stepping Stone clients on a weekly basis. They provide vital social support to our tenants, and bring practical knowledge and help with creating local links crucial to a sustainable tenancy.
